Short trip to Croyde

Over the past week I haven't had the time or facilities to blog, which made me feel a little bit lost. I haven't been blogging for too long but this week has shown me that it's part of my life. I kept thinking, ooh I could write a post on this or that, but wasn't able to because of not having any access.

Although those thoughts were running through my mind I did also have a fairly good week. I started the week on a trip down to Croyde with my boyfriend and a few of his friends. It went of to a good start, the weather was beautiful, the campsite was delightful and the views were lovely. We put up our tents and ended up going straight down to the beach. The sea was fairly cold but once you were in it felt a lot better.

When we got back to the campsite we had a lovely evening eating BBQ food and playing Cards Against Humanity, which if you have never played before I highly suggest it! It's a very funny game but is not for the light hearted!

We woke up early the next day probably from the fact the tents couldn't make up their mind on the temperature and kept going from freezing cold to boiling hot. We went and a look around the little town and ended up down at the beach again. It was a really nice day and although I got a bit burnt I had fun going in the seas and trying one or two times to surf. (I didn't do very well as I was freezing my ass off!) We spent the night playing cards and bullshit again until the rain started coming down.

The next morning we woke up and pretty much all the tents were leaking. It seemed the rain wasn't going to stop anytime soon so with everybody a little fed up and gutted at the same time, we decided to pack up and go home.

We were supposed to be there for the whole week yet ended up only staying Monday - Wednesday which as I said was gutting, but I still had such a lovely time. Although since I've got back I've been feeling fairly ill (think I got a little bit too cold in the sea) and have spent most of my time in bed.

But that's been my week. How has your week been? Ever been to Croyde or surfing?
Thanks for reading!

  1. I've never been to Croyde before, and you're actually brave for getting in the sea! It's a shame the horrible weather cut the trip short though!

  2. Never been to Croyde but it sounds lovely. Why do rain and camping always come together... a few years back I was camping and a tent pole snapped in the middle of the night, repairing it in the dark with sellotape will always be a funny memory haha :)
