Simple saving Tips!

Saving is something most of us have to do to get something we want however, many of us find it not as easy as it sounds. I know of a fair few people who earn a decent wage a month but always end up waiting for their next paycheck because they are so careless with their money. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, if you want to spend your money then go ahead you're the one that's earned it. But if you are looking for a way to stop spending so much then here are some tips you may find useful.

Food
I'm not sure about you but I believe I spend most of my money on food. Whenever I go out I always end up buying something to eat and usually I'm not even hungry! I don't usually mind buying something when I go out with friends but I think the biggest problem is when I buy food for work. When you buy food for work you can usually spend about £5 a day, which can slowly add up! Instead of doing this you could do a shopping list at the start of the week and prep food that you could make for lunches. This way you will be more prepared and it will become cheaper too.

Pennies
Pennies don't seem like much when they are on their own and can easily be thrown out like they're nothing, but if you keep them they can slowly add up. If everytime you get loose change you put it in a jar, when it comes to a day that you are running out of money you could raid the jar, sort of like a rainy day fund.

Don't use your card
Up until a year ago I never had a debit card because I believe they end up making you spend more money. When you spend with cash you only have a certain amount and therefore you can't go over however, if you are paying by card it almost feels like you have an endless amount of money and can spend whenever you want. If you are someone who always uses card I suggest for you to take out a set limit of money instead. This way you get to realise just how much you are spending and will feel more value of the money.

Saving challenges
A great way to save money is by making it a challenge and setting yourself targets. I usually get to a certain amount in my bank account and then say I can't go any lower than that amount. So you could set yourself targets like that or you could find challenges on the internet such as the '52 week money challenge'. This is where you put a certain amount away each week. I think this is a good way to save because it is fun and gives you more of a reason to save that money.

Now they are just a few tips I could think of to save money, do you have any tips?
Thanks for reading and I should have another post up very soon, thanks for bearing with me.
