Real Techniques | Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques are a brand that you would have most definitely heard of by now, whether that's because you are an avid youtuber or just a beauty buff, you would have heard of them somewhere, at least once. I myself had only ever heard of their name. I'd surprisingly never watched any of their youtube videos, which is weird seeing as I used to spend the majority of my time on there, and had never really thought too much about picking up one of their products. That is until a couple of days ago.

I was rummaging through superdrugs aisles, looking for some birthday presents for my little sister when I stumbled across make up brushes. Now I'm not usually someone who would buy crazy amounts of make up brushes, I like the ones I have as they work well for me and don't really intend on buying any new ones anytime soon. However, that being said, I have always wanted to try using a make up sponge, Not one of them ones you get in a pack of twenty that look boring and kind of remind me of face paint applicators, no, one of the 'cool' looking ones. You all know what I mean, when you've been scrolling helplessly through Tumblr and you see them strange shaped make up sponges in all bright colours. Yes, they are the ones!

Now every time I go to my local boots or superdrug I look for them, but my town is not very big and therefore my shops don't always supply the greatest of products. So when I was having a look at all the make up brushes I was very surprised when I came across the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I quickly picked it up and brought it not having a real clue what it was actually for.

Once doing some research and watching a snazzy little video about it I learnt what it was, a foundation sponge. This sponge is such a peculiar shape but works wonders as you can easily get to hard to reach places such as around the nose. I've been using this sponge for just over a week now and am pretty impressed with it. It is very easy to use, whether putting on foundation or concealer, it works well covering dark circles under eyes and leaves a flawless finish. On the down side, once washing it it felt like it was going to crumble apart and ended up looking very grubby.

As this sponge is only £5.99 I think it is worth the money and it doesn't matter too much what it looks like. I will carry on using this sponge for day looks however, when going out I think I will stick to foundation brushes.

have you tried this sponge? Do you like it or prefer foundation brushes?
